Description:
This is LILA's debut album. Taking over 2 years to complete, it's been well worth the wait. The album has songs that are honest and beautiful, with Naren's lyrics telling of heartfelt experiences from his life. The band compliments well with the lure and timbre of Naren's voice, knowing just when to be subdued, and knowing just when to explode.
These songs are true confessions of what life in New York City feels like. This album's sound often tips it's hat to Jeff Buckley, Radiohead, The Foo Fighters, and The Police.
Band Members:
Naren Rauch (Vocals and Guitar): Naren left his home in Los Angeles, CA and moved to New York City to take play music. Naren has been busy in NYC recording albums, touring in the US and abroad, and writing and recording music for TV.
Brian Griffin (Drums): Brian is a native of Darien, CT. Brian's eclectic repertoire of music styles that he has under his belt greatly adds to the depth of L I L A's sound.
Robert Sabin (Electric Bass, Backing Vocals): Robert performs regularly around New York with diverse musical groups (contemporary Jazz, Brazilian, rock/pop, Afro Cuban, musical theater productions, orchestras, folk music, commercial recordings, and new music.) Robert has played with everyone from Dianna Krall to Roy Hardgrove to The Turtle Island String Quartet. But he just loves getting all silly with L I L A and going crazy. Usually in that order.
Gabe Hays (Keyboards, Guitar) Gabe is the most recent edition to the band. He is a total and complete mystery to the band and to the outside world. One thing is known however, he is an amazing and accomplished musician who makes L I L A sound good. Real good. He also comes from Sante Fe (we think) and has another band The Batterie, which is great (we know).
