Description:
DISTILLED from Baltimore, MD, has been playing in the area for a few years. The band has experienced to have several different vocalists and every time whey they worked with a new vocalist, the sound that the band creates became heavier and tighter. The official and final unit was formed in April, 2003, with Robby as vocals and guitar, then Zury, the guitarist has started singing with him since then. Now because of their unique style, the band music is still heavy yet has a lot of melodious chorus and nice harmony, which makes them sound similar to Saliva, Staind, Trapt, in these days. The band recorded their newest material with Frank Marchand this summer, who has worked for .click, Jimmy's Chicken Shake, Nothingface, and many other big bands in the area. DISTILLED has played at the most of venues in Baltimore; Fletchers, Thunderdome, the Vault, Brass Monkey, as well as in Northern Virginia, and DC. The band also travels to play in some parts in PA.
Band Members:
Sho Oshita (dr) who is from Japan, started when he was 15 years old. Formed DISTILLED in Nov.1999 with Zury (G) and Akane (B). He has been in many different types of bands, pop, metal, rock and more in Japan. Formed Japanese Pop Rock band Sounds Cocktail when he came to the US.
Zury Mansur Cysneiros who is from Mexico but grew up in Brazil, started playing the guitar several years ago by teaching himself with his ears. He used to be the drummer in the band called Disasters in Brazil, a hardcore band. First time as a guitarist of the band in DISTILLED.
Akane Shirata (b) who is also from Japan started playing the bass when she joined in DISTILLED. She has been in a couple of bands in Japan, was in Sounds Cocktail with Sho as a keyboardist.
Robert Scott Hoy jr. (G & Vo) is from Laurel, MD. Although he is a singer for DISTILLED, but basically he can play drums, bass, trumpet, and pretty much any instruments. He has been in the bands Mud buddah, Impulse and more. Robby says "Music is everywhere you just have to listen!".
